2018 Glasgow ETU Sprint Triathlon European Championships

On a windy Glaswegian day at the beginning of August 2 IMTC athletes were out giving it their all in the Sprint AG Championships.

Helen Hayes (Female 70-74 AG) came in with an amazing performance to win a Bronze medal in her age group in a time of 01:42:56 (splits - Swim 16:15, T1 03:46, Bike 49:15, T2 2:42, Run 30:59).

Helens performance was helped by a brilliant swim in which she came out of the lake in 1st position posting the fastest time in her AG.

All the hard work over the past 4 months has paid dividends for Helen and her enthusiasm to achieve even better results is an inspiration to us all.

Next up for Helen is the Gold Coast Sprint World Championships in September and we wish her all the best.

Joining Helen at Glasgow was Lizz Davidson (Female 35-39 AG)

When Lizz came to IMTC her main goal for the season was to qualify for these championships and achieve the dream of representing GB in the Sprint European triathlon championships at Glasgow.

After a difficult start to the year, Lizz did herself and IMTC proud by achieving a qualifying slot and achieving her goal.

Lizz put had a great race and her result is below

01:24:17 (splits - Swim 14:45, T1 02:52, Bike 42:24, T2 :01:58, Run 22:20).

Great performances from both IMTC athletes and we wish them both well for the rest of the season.
